The OWNLY FinTech GmbH (formerly W&Z FinTech GmbH) was founded in summer 2015 as a subsidiary of M.M.Warburg & CO (AG & Co.) Kommanditgesellschaft auf Aktien by Dr Nicholas Ziegert in Hamburg. The company was launched with the mission of reinterpreting established private banking and family office services through digital technologies and making them accessible to a broader mass. The aim is to develop high-quality digital products and services. As of February 2023, co-founder Dr. Nicholas Ziegert has acquired the majority shares from Warburg Bank. As of this date, the company will be renamed OWNLY FinTech GmbH.
